Hôpital de l'Ordre de Malte is a national reference center for the care of young mothers and children. Inaugurated in 1972, it is the only hospital in the region to have a room equipped for surgical operations. The health facility has a team of almost 200 doctors and nurses, and has 140 beds. The hospital also has an essential laboratory for the entire territory: each year, it carries out nearly 70,000 tests, thus playing a fundamental role in patient care by offering prevention, screening and monitoring of therapies and in particular by monitoring people with HIV and their antiretroviral treatment.
