The HMK is an autonomous institution under the supervision of the Ministry of National Defense and Veterans Affairs, with a capacity of at least 400 beds. It functions as a diagnostic and treatment center for both the Civilian and Military population. It opened its doors on February 6, 1984. Since its opening, the activities of the various departments have increased considerably. In order to make it more operational, the HMK was set up in 1991 as a Personalized Administration endowed with legal personality, budgetary and management autonomy as well as assets.
