The Chad-China Friendship Hospital (HATC), formerly “Liberty Hospital” was inaugurated on September 16, 1996 by the President of the Republic, His Excellency IDRISS DEBY ITNO. Officially, the HATC is a hospital formation in the public sector, with a hospital capacity of around 300 to 350 bed places, of which 250 are permanently occupied. It offers health care to a population estimated at more than one million people, from N'Djamena, outlying districts of the capital, as well as other towns and villages across the national territory.
