Provide tertiary referral care to patients from general referral hospitals in the health zones of South Kivu. With a capacity of 450 beds mounted on 500, the HPGRB currently has 52 private VIP rooms and 16 common rooms for the hospitalization of patients. Since May 2003, it has served as a medical teaching institution for medical students at the Catholic University of Bukavu (UCB).
