International Medical Corps (IMC) has implemented a community-based surveillance (CBS) mechanism that helped communities in Butembo (North Kivu) to report disease alerts and community deaths to urgent interventions in an area barely emerging from the twelfth outbreak of Ebola and living under the third wave of coronavirus. This mechanism worked in three health areas in the Butembo health zone, namely Matanda, Maman Musayi and Vutsundo.
