The history of the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Milot began with the Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Canada and continued through Doctor Théodore Dubuque, a philanthropist. Indeed in 1968, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Montreal created a foundation called "Centre Rural pour le Development of Milot (CRUDEM) "which had a plural vocation intervening in the construction of roads and schools, the drilling of wells, the development of cooperatives, etc. In 1986, responding to incessant requests from the population the brothers of the Sacred Heart, with the support of two doctors Haitians, erected a health center called "Centre Médical Sacré-Coeur de Milot", with a room poorly equipped operation.
