Ten (10) medical services are created within the University Hospital Center of Kara (CHU Kara), located 420 km from Lomé. These are the departments of cardiology, general surgery, hepato-gastroenterology, laboratory, neurosurgery, pneumology, psychiatry, radiology, door emergencies, and urology. The only university-level public health establishment in the region, the CHU Kara, which has been under contractual management since 2018, is being strengthened to ensure better patient care. The medical staff is made up of thirty-eight (38) doctors, including fourteen (14) renowned professors. Attendance has increased by 54% in 4 years and it is in this context of dynamism, quality, and strong development that the CHU Kara, always at the service of the population, continues its policy of excellence with the opening of the USIC.
