Hôpital Vezo is located in a remote and very poor region of southwestern Madagascar. The hospital has an area of influence of around 200,000 people spread over 18 villages, with the nearest town 180 km away. The Vezo hospital provides its services and medicines free of charge and today it constitutes a very important reference for the population. About a hundred patients enter the hospital every day. Vezo Hospital is a voluntary hospital located in the village of Andavadoaka in southern Madagascar. It is managed by the Italian, Bologna-based humanitarian, non-profit, non-governmental organization “Amici di Ampasilava”.
