The core of the center began in 1994 when Dr. Abdallahi Ould Sidi Aly opened the first cardiology department at the National Hospital Center and this department remained the first destination for patients until 2001 when Cheikh Zayed Hospital was open. After years of negotiations and advocacy with the authorities on the issues and the feasibility of the project, Professor A. Sidi Aly had the great merit of overcoming the obstacles and obtaining the historic decision which allowed the birth of the National Center of Cardiology. The center with a capacity of 100 beds has modern medical equipment necessary for the treatment of heart disease. It contains a pavilion for surgical operations, a pavilion for emergencies, a pavilion for consultations, and another for hospitalization.
