El-Maarouf Hospital was inaugurated in 1954. Its name is borrowed from the great Sheikh Said Mohamed Bin Sheikh Al-Maarouf (1851-1904). With its 66 years of existence, the National Hospital Center continues to take care of patients. Especially at the heart of the health sphere, its history therefore leaves it as an actor in development and social development. Located in the largest city in Comoros, this is the regional hospital. A new facility is under construction to replace the current 350-bed facility and is scheduled to open in 2023.
