The Kwekwe General Hospital was founded in 1900 and is a teaching and referral hospital in Kwekwe District, though it also draws patients from the adjoining Zhombe District. The hospital is government-run and is administered by the Kwekwe City Council. The hospital is one of a number in the Midlands Province offering free anti-retroviral therapy to people with HIV/AIDS.
