Diamniadio Children's Hospital is the result of Sino-Senegalese cooperation. Its construction was co-financed by the governments of the People's Republic of China and Senegal for 5 billion CFA francs and 500 million CFA francs respectively. The structure is one of ten turnkey pediatric hospitals built by China in African countries. The hospital was erected as a level 3 health facility by decree 2011-1919. Its technical platform allows it, in addition to the care mission assigned to it as a public hospital service, to develop research and teaching activities.
