A son of the region, a visionary named El Hadji Djily Mbaye decided to improve the accessibility of populations to health care. In 1983 he built a hospital which in 2000 became a public health establishment. Today the CHR Amadou Sakhir Mbaye de Louga employs more than 300 people and provides health care to the population of the region.
