Since its construction in 1931, the Indigenous Hospital of Douala has been subject to the Indigenous regime of the French administration. It is then reserved for special patients who are strictly prohibited from accessing the Douala General Hospital (Nachtigal Hospital under German colonization). In the 1950s, this hospital took the name of Laquintinie, in tribute to Dr. Jean Auguste Laquintinie, a French military doctor who stayed twice in Cameroon. A reference hospital of 2nd category, the Laquintinie Hospital's mission is to ensure the daily qualitative and quantitative medical and medical health care of cases and adapted response to major events; whether they are sporting events, disasters or epidemics. It is built on 9 hectares, in the heart of Douala. Fax: +237 33 42 15 40
