The local Centre Hospitalier Regional (CHR) is one of the rare hospitals in the western part of the country with a catchment area of about 30.000 km² and a consultation rate of about 25.000 patients per year. The reconstruction and extension of the existing rooms established the basic conditions for the implementation of microbiological diagnostics. Since 2017, the Guiglo Regional Hospital Center (CHR) in Côte d'Ivoire has been better equipped with bacteriological laboratory diagnostic capacities (see report “Laboratory installed in Guiglo”). Due to this expansion of laboratory capacity, further diagnostics can now be offered at Tai Rural Health Center (CSR), a small rural hospital near Tai National Park, at a distance of approximately 80 km from Guiglo. The buildings were constructed to house the maternity, emergency, resuscitation, medical imaging, and laboratory.
