Maina Soko Military Hospital provide medical services according to international standard, with world-class medical equipment. The function of the hospital is to provide quality health care services to military personnel in order to maintain a healthy Defence Force. It also caters for immediate family members both in war and peace time. Maina Soko’s legacy in Zambia is immortalized in a military hospital named after her. In the 1960s, a maternity annex for the University Teaching Hospital was built. But in 1979, it was converted into a military hospital to take care of military casualties of the liberation war. In 2018, the Zambian government embarked on expansion works at the Maina Soko Hospital at a total cost of $140 million.
