Founded in 1882, the Hospital de Especialidades San Felipe is one of the largest and oldest hospitals in Honduras, located in the city of Tegucigalpa, the capital of the country. The San Felipe Hospital provides medical care 24 hours a day and its facilities treat a total of 1,500 daily patients from different regions of the country. It was formerly classified as a General Hospital, but according to the new categorization of hospitals in Honduras, Hospital San Felipe is a Type III Specialty Hospital (Hesp) with Complexity Level 6 with over 30 specialties. Its current director is Dr. Edwin Cruz.
