In the year 1900, a family named Motta came to Jinotega from Cobán, Republic of Guatemala. This family settling into the care, founded a school for girls, having Ms. Jesus Motta as their director. Her sister Miss Victoria Motta noticed the lack of an assistance center for the sick and the poor, in 1913 she began to collect funds at her school and other schools. So little by little, with a lot of effort, a small fund for the future Hospital. On July 14, 1925 it was resolved to be inaugurated under the name of Victoria Motta in honor of its founder. Departmental hospital of second level of health care, totally free, with emergency services, outpatient consultation and hospitalization, we are part of the Integrated Network of Health Services of the Ministry of Health in Nicaragua.
