Entering 1965, the US imperialists expanded the war to destroy the North of our country very fiercely. In order to ensure the treatment and emergency prevention for the people of Bac Thai Province, the Administrative Committee of the Viet Bac Autonomous Region issued Decision No. 35/QD dated August 13, 1965 on the dispersal of the Area Hospital. To meet the requirements and tasks in the new period, A Thai Nguyen Hospital was rebuilt to improve operational efficiency. With the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Health, the Government decided to invest in the province a maternity hospital with a scale of 200 beds, construction area of 14,000m2 with a total construction capital of 43 billion VND and equipment 16 billion dong, on a part of land previously allocated at group 19, Thinh Dan ward, Thai Nguyen city - That is A Thai Nguyen Hospital today. At the new location, the hospital is still ranked as Grade II, provincial level with a bed size of 340 planned beds in 2003. However, due to the increasing population size of the province, many schools and industrial parks in the area, the implementation of the unit's techniques is effective, so the number of patients is increasing day by day, the hospital is often overloaded. Therefore, it is necessary to add more treatment beds, the size of the beds must be increased gradually to avoid the situation of patients having to share beds. Especially since 2012, the number of inpatients has increased greatly, the number of hospital beds must increase every year: 2012: 380 beds, 2013: 420 beds, 2014: 470 beds, 2015: 510 beds . Following the direction of the Health sector, the hospital has implemented not to allow patients to have to share a bed when entering inpatient treatment, so the planned number of beds is 750 beds, the actual number of beds currently is 1050.The current organizational structure of the faculties: 31 faculties/departments, including: Department of Organization - Administration, Department of Finance - Accounting, Department of Planning - General, Department of Medical Equipment and Supplies, Department of Nursing, Department of Social Work, Department of Quality Management, Department of Training and Directing. Departments in the hospital include: Department of Examination, Department of Emergency Resuscitation, Department of General Internal Medicine, Department of Cardiology - Department of Health Protection, Department of General Surgery, Department of Trauma Surgery, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Pediatrics, Department of Surgery - Anesthesia, Department of Emergency Resuscitation, Department of Ophthalmology, Department of Dental - Jaw - Face, Department of Ear - Nose - Throat, Department of Pharmacy, Department of Infectious Diseases, Department of Traditional Medicine - Physiotherapy, Department of Dermatology, Department of Reproductive Support, Department of Pathology, Department of Infection Control, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Department of Biochemistry - Microbiology. After the process of striving to grow up in all aspects,So from October 2015, the hospital was officially recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a Grade I Hospital and is now a satellite hospital specializing in obstetrics and gynecology of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology and specialized in pediatrics of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
