From its humble beginnings as an offshoot of Kenyatta National Hospital, Mbagathi County Hospital has grown to provide essential healthcare services to the greater Nairobi County. As a public facility, the hospital serves more than 1 million underprivileged Kenyans who would otherwise have no access to affordable medical care. The hospital’s comprehensive care clinic handles more than 2,000 HIV patients at any one time. Mbagathi Hospital offers free medical services to vulnerable members of the community, including homeless individuals, street families and victims of domestic violence. The hospital’s public health department deals with disease surveillance and community outreach.
