Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) is a level 6 government hospital located in Kisii's Central Business District. The hospital started as a center for treating wounded World War 1 soldiers in 1916. For many years it operated as a District Hospital (level 4) before being upgraded into a level 5 facility in 2007 and then later into a level 6 in 2014.
