However, with this scale, the infirmary has not yet been able to fully meet the increasing actual medical examination and treatment needs of the people in the district and surrounding areas. Therefore, on June 26, 1970, the Administrative Committee of Hanoi City issued Decision No. 35/QD-UBHC to establish Dong Da General Hospital on the basis of merging Dong Da infirmary with Hanoi Eye Station.
