Sokoto Meningitis Laboratory and Diagnostic Facilities (also called EHA Lab) is a modular Biosafety Level 2 (BSL 2) laboratory designed to serve as a first point of testing cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood samples collected from suspected meningitis patients. The tests include Gram staining, cytology, microscopy, Pastorex agglutination tests (discontinued by WHO in 2019), microbial cultures, and strain serotyping. The EHA Lab is affiliated to EHA Clinics, a chain of primary healthcare providers located in Kano and Abuja, Nigeria. They provide a comprehensive range of services including general medical consultations, management of chronic diseases such as asthma, sickle cell disease, hypertension and diabetes, specialist pediatric and physician consultations, antenatal clinic, dental care, eye care, physiotherapy, immunization, COVID-19 testing and treatment, emergency care and Telehealth services.
