The Centro de Trauma Hospital Corazón de Jesús was founded on July 3, 1988, as a health center with basic specialties (general medicine, surgery, pediatrics and gynecology-obstetrics). Over time, the levels of care in different specialties were implemented and expanded, granting the Reference Hospital Level in the city of El Alto by Administrative Resolution in 1996. The hospital is now a trauma center and multispecialty hospital.
