University of Abuja Teaching Hospital is a federal government owned tertiary hospital situated in Gwagwalada, in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. Formerly a specialist hospital, it was upgraded in September 2006, to a Teaching Hospital for the University of Abuja. The 520-bed hospital offers multi-specialist services in the fields of anesthesia and intensive care, community medicine, dental & maxillofacial surgery, ear, nose & throat (ENT), family medicine, hematology & blood transfusion, histopathology, internal medicine, mental health, microbiology & parasitology, nutrition & dietetics, obstetrics & gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics & trauma, pediatrics, physiotherapy, radiology, and surgery. The hospital is home to a number of training programs including a residency program , schools of basic nursing, and school of post-basic critical care nursing.
