Region II Trauma and Medical Center has given the highest importance to all matters related to health, safety, quality and environment for more than 100 years. The Region II Trauma and Medical Center started in 1911 as a small hospital and outpatient service that was maintained in the town of Bayombong, specifically used for the tribes of the region. The district health officer during that time was Dr. Gabino Vinluan, who made a number of trips among the Ilongots, and has extended to them considerable medical relief. In 1912, the district health officer has held several hygienic conferences in different municipalities and delivered lectures on public health topics, and health organizations were formed wherever practicable. Since 1917, the hospital has not only been a benefit and a blessing to the inhabitants of Nueva Vizcaya but it has also been a place of welcome and relief to all travelers when ill.
