The two-story, 10-bed hospital Santiago Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center was inaugurated on April 15, 1991. This simple institution aimed to offer the best and most immediate medical service to the residents of Sta. Rosa and Cabuyao. Santiago Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center, intended for lying-in and emergency patients, received a tremendous welcome from the community and benefited from word-of-mouth endorsements. The ever-growing prestige of the hospital spread to the industrial establishments in the vicinity. One by one, they sought the hospital’s medical services for their employees. In October 1993, the name Santiago Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center was changed to St. James Hospital Inc. With the growing demand for rooms and additional facilities and with the increasing number of patients coming in for medical services, St James Hospital started its expansion project in 1996. New equipment and hospital amenities were procured for the four-story, 80-bed expansion. St. James Hospital now offers the best medical service to the community, rich and poor alike.
