The University of Uyo Teaching Hospital is a Federal Government owned 500-bed facility located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State (South-South) of Nigeria. Established in 1994 as Akwa Ibom State Specialist Hospital, it metamorphosed into University of Uyo Teaching Hospital on January 28, 2008. The tertiary hospital offers a wide range of specialist services including emergency care, anesthesia, surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics, physiotherapy, mental health, and radiology. It serves as a centre of learning and boasts a number of schools including a residency program, school of health information management, and community health officers' training school.
