The Zoe Geh Medical Center project began in 2004 at the initiative of Peter and Betty Weato, Liberians who, in 1993, had been displaced during the civil war when Mr. Weato was attending medical school in Monrovia, Liberia. It is estimated that more than 750,000 people live within 50 miles of the Zoe Geh Medical Center
