The St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital is the regional hospital serving the parishes of Portland, St. Mary and St. Ann. It boasts modern buildings with state-of-the-art equipment, a neonatal intensive care unit and operating theaters. The hospital is a 308-bed accredited training facility for interns and the regional hospital for the North East Regional Health Authority (NERHA), one of the four regional authorities on the island. It is a Type B hospital and is the referral hospital for the three general hospitals and 70 health centers located in Portland, St. Mary and St. Ann. Cases that cannot be managed in this hospital are referred to a Type A or a specialist hospital, like Cornwall Regional, Kingston Public Hospital, The Universityof the West Indies and Bustamante Hospital for Children. St. Ann’s Bay Hospital provides healthcare services to a population of about 360,000 people.
