Good Samaritan Hospital is a faith-based, general, hospital owned by AMIS (Amici Missione Isole Solomon). The hospital has approximately 30 beds and serves as an Area Health Center (according to the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health classification). The medical staff is made up of 2 doctors, local nurses, and volunteers doctors. These hospitals are partially-funded by churches and are administered and managed independently of the MHMS; however, as they also receive substantial government support, they also participate in the MHMS’ annual planning and budgeting process. THE Good Samaritan Hospital located in the east of Honiara is now equipped with its own diagnostic laboratory and X-ray equipment.
