Created in 1958 with funding from the French government and the State of Burkina Faso, the CHU YO officially opened its doors to the public on December 11, 1961. The first major hospital in the country after independence, it has always remained as the BURKINA FASO referral and last resort hospital. Since its creation and in order to meet the needs of the population, in particular, that of the city of Ouagadougou in quality health care, YALGADO hospital has experienced several statuses in its development, while the field of its activities has grown is widely and gradually increased and diversified.
