In May 2002 the clinic was opened in the heart of Serrekunda (the largest city in the country) and thus the clinic is in the catchment area of the poor and needy, according to our mandate. With the support of ASB Lüneburg, with great support from ASB Hamburg Mitte, and of course, with the long-term support of ASB-BV Germany, the initially small health station of ASB Gambia has become a well-equipped clinic. In 2015, 46,028 treatments were performed. The clinic currently employs over forty local staff and two German managers. In addition, there are currently three volunteers from the Weltwärts program and Gambian interns in the clinic.
