The CHR of Atakpamé is the reference hospital center of the plateau region. It dates from the 1970s. The first stone of its construction was laid on November 12, 1969. To date, the CHR of Atakpamé has the status of a Public Establishment of an Administrative Nature (EPA), endowed with legal personality and financial autonomy. It is placed under the administrative supervision of the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene, and the financial supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
