St John Ambulance is a charity and statutory body that proudly provides the nation’s primary emergency ambulance and emergency medical response service on behalf of the PNG Government. It is responsible for receiving all nationwide emergency 111 calls requiring ambulance attendance. The ambulance service covers a population of 3 – 5 million people and responds to over 12,000 emergency calls for help each year. Ambulance stations are located in Port Moresby( 3 Mile, Waigani and Baruni), Lae, Kokopo, and Kundiawa. Ambulance services are free to any Papua New Guinea requiring emergency life-saving care at a public hospital.
