Giovanna-E-Sylvia Medical Centre is a community hospital that opened in 2005 as an initiative by the late Mr. Riccardo Lizier and Mr. Leonard Amalia to serve the local community in an area with a growing population and a lack of quality health services. It started in two 20-foot containers and has since grown to a 10-bed capacity maternity and nursing home providing a wide variety of medical services to the community. It has been serving communities in the Kasarani area and beyond for more than 12 years, and offers services such as TB and HIV care, among others. The facility focuses on patient-centered healthcare with a personal touch, with staff including consultants, clinicians, nurses, and support staff.
