Organization Description
Since the war broke out in Sudan, on April 15th, 2023, the Sudanese American Medical Association shifted its operations and resources to provide urgent relief for the affected people in Sudan. SAMA's humanitarian interventions mainly targeted internally displaced persons (IDPs) across 5 states (Northern, White Nile, Gezira, River Nile, and Sinnar states) with a focus area on shelter, Nutrition and Food assistance, and healthcare delivery. To date, we supported over 7000 IDPs across the country.
SAMA also paid special attention to learning as it established the "Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Center for Learning" in PortSudan to ensure that people in Sudan still have access to good quality education during the conflict time. SAMA conducted two learning programs; Trauma ECHO and Dental School ECHO programs.
