Touching Lives Ministry

Based in Christian ministry, supports communities worldwide through improved healthcare, education, and spiritual and economic development.

Overview

Mission Teams to Kenya

Each year Touching Lives Ministry does a two-week medical/children’s ministry mission trip to southwestern Kenya on the shores of Lake Victoria. The mission is the last week of July – the first week of August.

Short-term missions reflect the domestic side of Touching Lives vision and calling. There are many components to our missions. We invite you to explore these various components. Enjoy learning more about them and let us know if you have any questions that are not covered here – we love sharing our vision! Thank you for your interest in and prayers for this part of our ministry!

Free Medical Camps

Touching Lives free medical camps are a cooperative venture between Touching Lives Ministry and Touching Lives Kenya. Generally, one-third of the teams are Americans and two-thirds are Kenyans. The annual camps are held in the area where we are preparing to build and open medical facilities. The purpose of the camps are:

  • To introduce the community to the future location of year ’round medical services
  • To bless the community
  • To foster international partnerships
  • To educate the American teams on some of the physical and spiritual needs in remote regions

Amenities & Accomodations

As our mission teams enter Kenya, we are blessed to be able to acclimate gently to this new culture at the Rosa Mystica Guest House. It is located across the street from Junction Mall – yes, a mall! The team can exchange their currency, purchase snacks, and even get a Chinese dinner! The rooms at Rosa are all single occupancy except for a few rooms for married couples. Each room has a TV and western toilet and heated shower. The guest house has free wifi so team members can let their loved ones know that they arrived safely. While at the site of the medical camp and until the Sanjweru Medical Center Guest House is built, our teams stay at the Superior Guest House, in the town of Magunga about 2 miles from Sanjweru. The rooms here are also single occupancy, each with its own western toilet and heated shower. The mission team leaders have portable Kenyan wifi devices so that team members can call home 2-3 times during the medical camp to tell their loved ones.

  • Private Toilet
  • Shower

Meals

The team has a private dining room for breakfast and dinner (lunch is provided at the medical camp).
