Aims to facilitate community development and relief among the Maasai tribe, including providing healthcare and improving schools by hosting short-term volunteers.
For over 20 years, Africa Mission Services (AMS) has been hosting volunteer groups. From the moment your group arrives in Kenya, AMS has the logistics taken care of. From organizing transport, accommodations in Nairobi and at Mara West Camp, to food, safaris, and preparations for the planned development projects. Having hosted well over 100 groups, AMS is an expert in facilitating volunteers to make the most out of their limited time.
Africa Mission Services realizes that when it comes to volunteer work one must be considerate of the local culture and not to create a welfare society. In an effort to promote development, AMS works closely with the Maasai community to seek their needs and not promote our own. It is our philosophy that if you provide a community with health care, education, and clean water – you give them the greatest gift – the gift of health and a choice in their future.
Africa Mission Services hosts groups of various size and composition from church affiliations, schools, corporate, medical, family, and friend groups. It is the one thing we all have in common that draws us together – the desire to serve. Whether a skilled professional or an energetic youth, there is opportunity for all to get involved. Potential projects include medical work – either at the AMS Community Health Clinic and Birth Center or through mobile medical clinics, dental care, construction, children’s programs, and more. There is something for everyone!
Some might ask, “wouldn’t more get accomplished if we just sent the money rather than spend so much coming on an international mission trip?” What we have found is that the relationships formed between the locals and volunteers often makes a bigger impact than the “work” done. These relationships open the world for these young people, causing them to feel special and making them dare to dream. Most will go home feeling that while they came to bless someone else – it was them who was truly blessed and whose eyes were opened to a whole new world.

MAKING THE TRIP HAPPEN
To make a mission trip happen, you need three basic things. First, you need a project. Then, you need a group. Finally, you need to make travel arrangements.
Fortunately, at AMS, we’ll do two of the three for you, making your mission trip a breeze! With your input, we’ll arrange a project for you, and take care of all the trip arrangements, leaving you with one job: to get your group together! Your group can be part of a school, church, organization, or even a bunch of your friends!
AMS takes care of necessary project logistics for construction projects, medical trips, or any other type of service project. We also arrange necessary flight reservations and airport transfers, so that you are left free to spend time with your group, bonding! We can also schedule a layover in Europe, allow ing for a flash visit to Paris, London or Amsterdam!
If you’re new to mission trips, managing a group and traveling abroad may sound more than a little daunting. AMS makes it so easy—that’s what we’re for: help you plan and make a difference. Read more.
